English 2A-Exploratory Writing

Imagine that you are one of the animals listening to Squealer's speech in chapter five when he says, "No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would only be too happy to let you make your decision for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where will you be?" Write a detailed response  stating what you think about Squealer's reasoning.

Squealer is implying that all the comrades/animals should follow Napoleon and his belief that all animals are equal. In addition, he added to his statement that leadership is a difficult task. He says that if comrades choose to think their own ways, then they would end up being unfortunate. I believe that Squealer is forcing all the animals to agree with him which is unnecessary as a leader and also irresponsible. I believe that the animals should collaborate together rather then being under the rule of a tyranny (autocracy).

Blog Post #3 : The Qualities of a Good Leader

In the novel, Animal Farm, the pigs are supposed to be intelligent animals. Should intelligence be the primary qualification for leadership? What other qualities are important for a leader to have? How did you select the leader for your group in the Animal FarmSociety Challenge? Did any of these qualities play a part in your selection process? Write in complete sentences and post to YOUR blog.

Intelligence isn't necessary the primary qualification for leadership; other qualities that a leader must have is determination, dedication to tasks, openness to new ideas, creativity, and great friendship tactics. A leader should be encouraging and willing to listen to other's suggestions. We hadn't yet selected a leader for our group in the Animal Farm Society Challenge, but I am hoping that out team's leader will definitely contribute well to our group and maintain the qualities of being an outstanding leader.

What I Am Thankful For!

When someone asks me what I'm thankful for, I have many thoughts that come to mind. I am truthfully thankful for an endless amount of things, such as my friends, loving family, and the opportunities I am blessed with. I am thankful for everyone who is currently reading this post. Since this is the week of Thanksgiving, I would like to give thanks for my parents and friends that had grown up with me; they had helped me stand strong like how I am today. I would also like to appreciate teachers that enlightened me towards the way to success. Lastly, I am thankful that I am blessed with so many opportunities, such as having a shelter, a twin sister, a great school, and a blessed religion. Happy Early Thanksgiving, everyone! :D
